Established by the Cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038), it regulates cybersecurity in Ghana, licenses providers, and runs the national incident response and reporting points.
For an ordinary reader it is where online fraud, romance scams, sextortion and hacked accounts are reported, alongside the police. It also runs public awareness campaigns that are more useful than they sound, because the frauds running in Accra change every few months.
Reporting matters even when the money is gone. Patterns are what get a number blocked and a network account closed.
